Recycling Guidelines

Here’s what you need to know!

 We require documentation for the following items:

  • Air conditioning evaporator coils

  • Any materials from a chemical manufacturing facility, refinery, electric utility facility, water intake structure, natural gas facility, gas storage facility, or transportation facility

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing items

  • Telecommunications items

  • Hospital equipment

  • Industrial/commercial equipment that cannot be purchased at a local retail store

  • Restaurant equipment

  • ATMs

  • Any semi parts 

Please bring the following documentation for the items above:

  • EPA license

  • HVAC license

  • Plumbing license

  • Contractors license

  • Receipt of purchase

  • Typed letter from the company it was received from

  • State ID card or driver’s license plus valid registration to scrap a vehicle

 

Please follow these instructions for the specified items:

  • Pressurize gas tanks must be de-valved and cut in half.

  • All other gas tanks must be emptied and have a large hole cut in them.

  • We only accept bike rims, no tires.

  • All motors and transmissions must have the pans removed and fluids drained.

  • Air Conditioner Compressors must be drained

 

Items we do not purchase:

  • Anything containing glass, wood, mercury, oil and other hazardous chemicals

  • Auto wheels with tires

  • Ballasts with PCBs

  • Batteries

  • Beer kegs

  • Bicycles

  • Boats

  • Capacitors

  • Catalytic converters

  • Christmas trees

  • Computers

  • Containers with liquids

  • Couches

  • Dishwashers

  • E-waste

  • Funeral markers or vases

  • Guard rails

  • Historical markers

  • Manhole covers

  • Mattresses

  • Microwaves (no capacitors)

  • Oil filters

  • Railroads and railway equipment

  • Refrigerators and freezers with compressors attached

  • Safes

  • Small green propane tanks

  • Stereos

  • Street signs, traffic, signs or traffic signals

  • Televisions

  • Whole vehicles, motorhomes and semi trailers 

Additionally, we ask that you follow these rules while on FMR property:

  • Make sure all containers are empty.

  • Do not break or remove glass.

  • Do not bring or handle hazardous waste.

  • Do not clean or sort material. 

  • Do not leave trash on or around the property entrance. This includes the red brick building on the corner.

  • Grocery carts are not permitted.
